Call for applications for GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) Program - 2025

 

The NewGen IEDC Incubation Centre University of Kashmir invites applications from aspiring first-generation entrepreneurs for the GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) program. This initiative is aimed at nurturing technology-driven entrepreneurial talent by providing financial support, mentorship, and resources to transform innovative ideas into scalable startups.

 1.     Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be an Indian citizen.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Applicants should be first-generation entrepreneurs willing to dedicate full-time efforts to their startup during the EiR program.

 2.     Startup/Idea Requirements:

  • The startup should be in the ideation, validation, or very early stages.
  • The idea must align with GENESIS objectives, focusing on:

    • Electronics & IT
    • Emerging technologies (AI, IoT, blockchain, etc.)
    • Digital solutions addressing societal challenges in health, education, agriculture, or sustainability.
    • The startup must demonstrate the potential for scalability and measurable impact, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

 3.     Legal Compliance:

  • If incorporated, the startup must be registered under applicable Indian laws as a Private Limited Company or LLP and must not be older than one year at the time of application.

 4.     Funding and Financial Eligibility:

  • Applicants must present a clear plan for utilizing the EiR grant, such as for prototype development, market research, or customer validation.

 5.     Regional Priority:

  • Startups from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities will be given priority to promote regional innovation.

 6.     Candidates not eligible to apply:

  • Individuals currently enrolled in any other full-time incubation or entrepreneurship programs.
  • The Startups in receipt of any external funding exceeding ?10 lakh for the same concept.
  • Startups involved in unethical, illegal, or non-compliant activities.

How to Apply

Submit your application online on the NewGen website along with the following documents: 

    • Proof of Identity and Address.

    • Certificate of Incorporation and PAN (if applicable).

    • Detailed business proposal, including a problem statement, proposed solution, and utilization plan for EiR support.

    • Declaration of no significant external funding (if applicable).
